Eugene served in the U.S. Army Medical Corps from 1948 to 1971. He was a Staff Sergeant and served in Viet Nam. He received the Good Conduct Medal, The National Defense medal, The Viet Nam Service Medal, an Army Commendation and a Joint Services Commendation.
