Arthur is a Marine Corps veteran who served in Korea in 1951 to 1953. He received The Korean Service Medal with two battle stars, The Good Conduct Medal, The American Defense Medal and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal. He was a Sergeant and worked with Ordinance, he calls himself a "gun plumber". He worked on AD-1 and AD-2 aircraft. He also participated in the atom bomb test at Frenchman's Flats.
