Kell was an Army Medic from 1941-1945, serving in the U.S. He went in the Army at the age of 18 and his brother, who was only 16 years old, enlisted at the same time. His brother used Kell's birthdate as his own and the Army determined that they were "Twins". What the Army didn't notice was that Kell and his brother listed different days of the week as to when they were born.
