Marvin was a paratrooper with the 17th Airborne and served from 1943 until 1945. Serving in the European Theater he parachuted in to Germany while the U.S. was trying to cross the Rhine River. He received the Bronze star, The Combat Infantry Badge, Jump Wings, Expert Marksman with a 30 caliber Machine gun as well as other ribbons.
