Paul was a sergeant in the Army and served in intelligence with the 7th Corps. Before the US entered the war he was in England during the "Blitz". He landed in Normandy during D-Day in one of the first waves of Americans to select sites for the boats that were landing. He also was in Bastogne during the Battle of the Bulge. He says that it was 14 degrees below zero while they were fighting.
